...so we finally get to digging

We've had some nice days over the past few weeks so we've started at the school....

...this is me giving the first group their health and safety talk...

...and we get kitted up....

...then down to the serious business of digging....

....and here are the sorts of things we've found so far, not so exciting archaeologically but the pupils have been very pleased with their discoveries, especially this one..

...an old metal lock plate including doorknob and key!

We'll be going back over the next few weeks so we'll see how many other treasures we can uncover...
